AMBI Fade Cream for oily skin

AMBI fade cream is OG in treating acne scars and hyperpigmentation. There are 2 ambi fade cream formulations available. One for normal skin and another for oily skin. The only difference between these two formulations is that normal skin variant contains several silicone ingredients compared to oily skin variant.

The key ingredients in the fade cream are 2% hydroquinone,  2% octinoxate, tocopherol(vit e) , lactic acid.

Inactive Ingredients List:

Water, glycerine, isopropyl myristate, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, potassium cetyl phosphate, betaine, glycerl stearate,  PEG-100 stearate sodium metabisulfite, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, fragrance, tocopheryl acetate, methylparaben, disodium EDTA , lactic acid, propylparben, ethylparaben, PEG-16 soy sterol, sodium ascorbyl phosphate,  butylene glycol, glycine soja (soybean) protein

Hydroquinone is the gold standard treatment option for hyper-pigmentation, melasma,  sun spots, age spots, acne scars etc .

There is a lot of tension around this ingredient.  Some say that it causes cancer &  some countries like UK, Europe, Japan banned this ingredient.

Let me tell you guys...This ingredient doesn't cause Cancer.  It is approved by FDA & there aren't any clinical researchers or research studies that say this ingredient is harmful for humans. They have conducted tests. but, the tests are done on rats. The rats are ingested and fed with higher dosages of this ingredient.  Obviously we don't consume the ingredient right!? We just apply it topically . On top of that, things that are toxic for animals doesn't always mean they are toxic for humans too.

OTC 2% hydroquinone is really safe and effective. Just keep in mind that you have to use it for minimal period like 3 months.

Using lower concentration and following minimal period is important because in some people there is a potential for exogenous ochronosis  to occur. Ochronosis is a reaction where the skin darkens in the areas where hydroquinone is applied. However,  ochronosis is extremely rare & usually occurs with long term use (for 10yrs straight) of hydroquinone especially when used in high concentration.

How i used this product is, I've applied it only at nights that too 2× a week with 2 days gap in between for 3months. This tube lasted really long and In just 3 weeks my acne scars faded and  the formulation too felt really gentle on my skin . I haven't experienced purging/burning/acne of any sort.

You can also use this as a spot treatment. Also keep in mind that This product doesn't help you become light but it helps in toning the skin.

If you want to go beyond 2% concentration,  just talk to your dermat and use it under his supervision. Fearing the misuse, many dermats doesn't prefer prescribing this ingredient to people. So discuss with them about this ingredient and get their prescription.

If this ingredient sounds too scary for you guys, then you can check other ingredients like arbutin, Koji acid, tranexamic acid etc. Recently I've tried ECLAT fade cream and I really liked it.  That one doesn't contain hydroquinone but gives similar results. It's just you have to pay more and have to use it for longer period.

Can we mix hydroquinone with other actives?

Yes, hydroquinone is safe to use with all other actives.

Will I repurchase? 💯Yes if I face any pigmentation issue in the future
